This short video is well worth the watch.
How many people have you passed on the street as if they weren’t even there? How many people did you fail to see God in their faces?
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” Matthew 25:35-40
The line at the end of the video is a real life lesson: Never look down on anyone unless you’re helping them up!
My wife and I were in New York City this weekend for some R&R and to go to the 9/11 museum. On a beautiful fall weekend there were more people out and about than you can imagine. There was a lot of “jostling” walking down busy streets and patience was not exactly the theme of the day. So, I took this picture and with it was thinking about “Where is God in this sea of humanity?” Continue reading
The devil doesn’t make you do anything. The devil can’t make you do anything. What the devil does is whisper negatives in your ear and suggestions of what to do. You are the one with God-given free will. You make you do it. The devil just whispers and, when you start listening, he even shouts. Continue reading
You have a path to God. It’s that road less traveled that, regardless of what life presents, leads to God. The devil tries his best to throw you off that path. He whispers in your ear anything that will make you doubt your direction in life. He’s great at telling you to turn right or left when the path leads straight ahead. His reason for being is to keep you from God. That’s because he knows that only with God will you be truly happy. Your unhappiness is his goal. Continue reading
Belief. Trust. Knowing. It’s putting aside everything you judge by seeing, feeling, hearing, and smelling. It’s falling backwards without hesitation, confident that God will catch you. It’s going all in with God. Continue reading
I’m allowed a wish on my birthday (today, October 3rd). It’s that everyone reading this will simply smile today in hopes of passing that smile along to at least two other people. A smile can be infectious. It’s a simple signal from the heart that you are happy. Passing that along to someone you don’t know, especially with a “Have a GREAT day!” can turn a person’s bad day into a good day. I could wish for more love in the world—as God commands us to love—but I’ll take a smile for my birthday.
That’s it. No lectures or verses about how God commands us to do one simple thing—LOVE! I’m just wishing that all who read this simply smile today and pass it along to others. God is smiling at you. Return that smile to his other children.
Thanks and have a GREAT day!!!
