Satan Wants Your Happiness!

No, Satan is not some religious creation made up to scare you to lead a straight and narrow life. He is real, working behind the scenes to steal your happiness, peace, and fulfillment for eternity. He tempted Jesus unsuccessfully, but tempted Judas successfully to hand over Jesus to die.

So when he had dipped the piece of bread he gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot. After he received the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “Do quickly what you are going to do.” John 13:27

Look around you. Do you think that acts of terrorism and school shootings are the acts of God? What motivates people to commit acts of violence?

Look inside yourself—honestly. Are you one with God when you talk about someone behind her back? Is it God whispering in your ear when you think about how much you can’t stand your neighbor? When that voice inside says that you are not good enough, that you will never get to where you aspire, do you think God is behind that voice?

Nothing negative comes from God. God is all-positive. Satan is the exact opposite. He is all-negative.

Satan is very real. He is very much a part of all of our lives. He is as real as God. You don’t need to go far to find him, unfortunately.

Satan is the father of lies. As Jesus said, there is no truth in him; only lies. God wants us to be happy, at peace, and fulfilled for eternity. God tells us that we will not find true happiness, peace, and fulfillment in the things of this world. That is why God calls us. Satan lures us with the hope of happiness, peace, and fulfillment but he actually wants the exact opposite for us. He wants us attached to the things of this world knowing that they will never satisfy—and that we will never find God in the process.

The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan wants us searching for happiness, peace, and fulfillment but never finding them. He feeds off our unhappiness, unrest, and longing.

We are God’s creation, not Satan’s. Satan hates God and he hates us.

Satan wants us anchored to this world and the things in it. He wants us to want more and more things. He knows that the things of this world can never bring happiness, peace, and fulfillment. He knows that the things of this world only offer fleeting happiness. They are bait in Satan’s trap. Satan knows that the things of this world keep us from God. They are an anchor to this world and to Satan forever.

“But if you turn aside and forsake my statues and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from the land that I have given you, and this house, which I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.” 2 Chronicles 7:19-20

So, if you want to find true happiness, peace, and fulfillment in life you have to FIGHT Satan. At times this may sound and feel like an impossible task. However, if you don’t complicate it, it’s not. Simply open up to God and fall back into his loving embrace.

Doesn’t sound practical? Don’t know where to start? Just stop what you are doing and open up to God. Tell God your thoughts and fears. Need some help? Here’s a suggestion to repeat…

O Lord, my Creator, Savior, and Spirit within, please hold me and shower me with your love, grace, and mercy. Fuel my faith in you and protect me from the snares and fear of the devil. In my weakness build strength and in my fear build faith. I trust in you like NEVER before. I release my grasp on the things of this world and renew my grasp on you. Amen.

Try it and my prayers are with you. FIGHT for your happiness, peace, and fulfillment!
