Funny how this works—I write a post earlier in the week about how prayer works, Then, I spend the rest of the week with little time devoted to prayer. Busy? Hypocrite? Do what I say, not what I do?
It has been a crazy week with a work-related crisis consuming me morning to night but that’s no excuse not to pray. My entire point in writing the post—If You Don’t Think Prayer Works You’re Not Praying!!!—is that prayer works. If you don’t think it works you are simply not praying. So, what do I do? Spend the rest of the week not praying.
Life can get overwhelming at times, especially if we let it. Rather than turn to God for help by praying we turn to our busyness and get lost in the world. That makes everything worse!
The good thing is that God is always there to talk in prayer. He doesn’t get hurt when we ignore him like we do when someone ignores us. He is there ready to listen and talk. We just have to make the time for him. Note to self—make the time!
There’s no better time than heading into Easter to spend time in prayer thanking God for the gift of his only Son and thanking Jesus for the gift he gave to us—his life!
Make the time and pray. It works!
