Get Over It: The Devil is Real. Now, Get On With Life!

I know that most people don’t want to talk about the devil. They would rather relegate Satan to horror movies. But he is very real and very active in the world. We just need to be aware of that and then get on with life. A life walking towards God; not the other direction to the devil.

People get confused when they see my list of what I call the Real Secrets to LifeLISTEN, READ, LOVE, FIGHT, BELIEVE, LIVE & PRAY— and see “FIGHT” listed after “LOVE,” let alone listed at all. Is FIGHT truly a Real Secret to Life? Yes, if you understand that you need to acknowledge that Satan is very real, very much at work in the world, and is after your soul. He is always tempting each of us to look only at ourselves—our own, singular interests, wants, and desires—not others and their needs. We simply need to understand that as reality and FIGHT it.

Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters in all the world are undergoing the same suffering. 1 Peter 5:8-9

How can we possibly FIGHT someone like Satan, with demons lurking everywhere? It’s actually really simple. We just walk in the footsteps that Jesus walked on this earth. We move close to God by loving him and others—not ourselves! We understand our purpose in life by LISTENing for/to God. We keep reading the Bible for tips on how to LIVE this life, PRAYing constantly to God. We BELIEVE in the power of God within us to do anything, including FIGHTing the devil. Simple—LISTEN, READ, LOVE, FIGHT, BELIEVE, LIVE & PRAY.

As I say and write again and again—God means life to be so very simple! We just need to simplify our lives on God. That’s how we FIGHT the devil.

Have a GREAT week and FIGHT on!
