I can’t imagine living this life not believing in God. Whenever I have those moments of doubt, or turn my back ever so slightly on God, the world seems so dark and foreboding. When I am in concert with God—even with all my sins—his splendor is both warm and blinding.
I spent the last week off in the mountains. There is something about being above it all to clear your head and look down on God’s creation.
The atheist would explain it all away in scientific terms. I see the hand of God in the science. His splendor shines on everyone who does not believe in Him. He loves us all equally and unconditionally, and His light blots out any darkness in our lives.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:5
There is a lot of darkness in the world today. I think it correlates with our obsession with this world, and all the things in it, and turning our backs on God. Fortunately, for all who believe and walk the walk—not just talk the talk—the light radiates through any darkness.
All this seem too unreal and “religious?” That’s a really good question to reflect on today. I found my answer this past week off.
Have a GREAT week in God’s splendor!
