Positive thinking has a lot of power. That’s because God wants you thinking positively. Nothing—and I mean NOTHING—negative comes from God. However, negative thinking has even more power. That’s because it grows like a cancer, starting out as a small negative thought and, in the extreme, ending up being all-consuming. Am I saying something is more powerful than God?
No, nothing is more powerful than God. As God first introduced himself, “I am.” God is the essence of everything. God simply is. However, the nature of being human is that we are drawn to the negative. We don’t feel good. Someone is bothering us at work who we don’t like. We don’t have enough money. The bad “don’ts” can rule us. And when they start, the “don’ts” grab a foothold in our lives and grow, just like a cancer, if we don’t stop them.
The problem is worsened by the devil whispering in our ears. The devil loves the bad “don’ts” we harbor in our lives. We are most often not even aware of the whisperings; we just let them feed the “don’ts.”
Being human makes it easier to think negatively. It takes some discipline to think positively. But when we do, God is always there feeding that positive thinking. And God can overcome anything negative in our lives; we just have to put God at the center of our lives. Lives that are built on a foundation of positive thinking. A foundation that needs maintenance every day to patch any cracks.
Get the negative thinking out of you life TODAY! Jesus spent 40 days in the desert getting his mind right and overcoming the whisperings of the devil. Spend at least 40 minutes this week getting your mind right by overcoming the negative thinking in your life.
