I’ll answer the question for you—YES! We all have an inner, soulful light that mirrors God. The problem is that some of us don’t know it and others keep their lights well hidden so no one sees them. That’s why the world seems pretty dark at times. Don’t believe all this light “stuff” I am talking about? Well, here’s a test.
Get in touch with yourself and read or listen to a really bad story of something wrong in the world. You won’t feel much light, if at all. In fact, what you feel is darkness. Next, read or listen to a really heart-warming story. You will feel light. The better the story the more light you will feel.
What’s this about “feeling” light? I thought you “see” light? Visible light is seen. Your inner, soulful light is felt. OK, so it’s really not light? No, it’s light but just a different type of light. It’s the light of life, the light of God. We all have it but we don’t all know it. We keep it hidden from ourselves and/or others.
“Consider whether the light in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays.” Luke 11:35-36
Get in touch with the light in you. Trust me—it’s there. And when you feel it, let it shine for all to see. Don’t hide it. How to let it shine? Start with a smile, extend a helping hand, and let God’s love flow out of you to others. The greater the flow the stronger the light.
“Let your light shine your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
The world feels dark these days because there are not enough lights shining. They’re hidden. This isn’t religious mumbo-jumbo but a fact of REAL life. Let your light shine and help bring us out of darkness.
Have a great, shining day!
