In golf a “do over” is a mulligan. God’s mulligan is grace. You have it, over and over again. It doesn’t go away—ever! Translation to all of this—you have unlimited fresh starts with God. In fact, every second of every day is a fresh start with God.
This is a great time for fresh starts. Passover commemorates the escape from Egypt and a fresh start for the Israelites. Easter commemorates the fresh start that Jesus gave to each one of us in dying for our sins and rising to a new life—the life waiting for all of us.
Spring is in the air, although winter is still trying to hold us back from springing forward. The devil will do everything in his power to hold you back from moving forward. Thankfully, God’s grace is the “do over” for you to move forward.
Use this time of year to assess your life and move forward, not backwards. Take advantage of God’s mulligan of grace and tee it up again. Start fresh. Get rid of the old baggage and move on with your life in the direction God points. LISTEN and he will listen and answer.
I have said this before, and I know it sounds a little mindless and simplistic, but clean a closet or a basement. Throw some things away or, if in good condition, donate them to someone in need. Lighten up your life. Let go and let God shine his grace on you. Take the mulligan and move forward!
