Yes. Everyone does. How do I know? Because I know I have one and if I have one every other person on this earth has one. No matter what our physical (health, wealth, etc) circumstances, God sees our souls and sees all souls of His children equally. Trust me—You have a guardian angel!
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11
No, I am not making this up. And, no, I am not crazy. But my first realization that I had a guardian angel was on the golf course—in fact, one of the toughest in the world. Overall, I played very well that day but that had nothing to do with my guardian angel. It was a presence I felt that I had never felt before. It was a presence that in effect said, “I’m here.” I remember that encounter much more than I do having one of the rounds of my life.
I know my guardian angel is with me every second of the day, just like I know your guardian angel is with you. I can sense the little prods trying to keep me on the straight path in life, even if I don’t always “listen.” However, overall I try to tap into that advice and “listen” to the whispers in my ear. It helps drown out the demon whispers of temptation.
People are generally uncomfortable talking about angels and devils. The devils are those “red” beings that show up on Halloween and the angels are those “white” beings that fly into Christmas. But generally we tend to dismiss both as not being real and fodder for books and movies. Trust me—both are very real! We just don’t see and hear them the way we do each other. You may dismiss that with a laugh or roll of the eyes but it’s true. The angels are trying to get our attention to stay on the right path in life and the devils are trying to push us off that path. It’s the battle behind the scenes we don’t “see” or simply don’t want to “see.”
I don’t know how to tell you to get in touch with your guardian angel other than to take some time to meditate and pray. You can’t hear anyone, much less an angel, if you don’t stop your world to listen. I know that’s especially tough this time of year. But it’s just like I say about the 1st Secret to Life: If you stop and take the time to LISTEN, you will hear if not just your ears but most importantly your mind and heart are open.
