God’s light is shining on you! Take at least a few minutes today to feel that light. Then, make sure that God’s light doesn’t stop with you. Let it shine, let it shine!!!
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen on you. Isaiah 60:1
If there’s ever a time of the year to feel God’s light it’s Christmas. It’s brighter than that star in the sky that led all to the birth of Christ. It shines on each of us individually; we just have to stop, open our eyes, as well as our hearts and minds, to feel the light. Shining with it is the grace of God. And the light that shines and continues to shine is Jesus in our lives.
With everything happening in our world today, across the globe, there isn’t much light. It’s a pretty dark place. That’s why it’s up to each of us to stop, let the light of Jesus in our lives that God sends, and to let that light burn outward from us. Let it shine, let it shine!!!
As always, I’m not trying to talk religious mumbo-jumbo. I’m talking about spending some time with God amidst all the dash for presents, slowing down at a time when everything speeds up, and simply feeling the light of His grace shine on you. Let that grace in, then let it shine outward for everyone to see. Start with a smile. Pay something forward. Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line. Make sure the local or church food bank is stocked for Christmas. Don’t pass the person on the street begging for money. In general, think about giving of yourself to anyone in need. Do what Jesus taught us to do—serve.
Have wonderful days leading to Christmas next week. Stop your busy day long enough to feel God’s light shine on you. Trust me—you’ll feel it if you take the time to feel it. Then, let it shine, let it shine!!!
