I think one of the best Bible verses to live by is Romans 12:2 which says:
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God — what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Take a few minutes to read this verse over several times and really understand what Paul is saying to the Romans.
Don’t conform to the world by doing what everyone else does. Don’t be mindless in accepting the ways of this world. Renew your mind, take a fresh look at life, especially keeping in mind how Jesus taught us to live. Refresh, revitalize, renew! By doing that you can better understand what God wants you do do, His purpose for your life. The more you do this the clearer God’s purpose for you will become. That’s the part of going from good to acceptable to perfect.
We live in a world that is more than a little lost wandering a big desert. If we conform to that we will find ourselves lost in our own deserts. Refresh, revitalize, renew your thinking to stay out of the desert and reach the Promised Land in your life.
