Which one are you? There are people who go through life constantly playing the “victim” card. Someone else is always to blame for their plight in life. There are others who see themselves as the “victor” over someone else. And I think there are a large group who can’t answer the “victim” or “victor” question. What’s wrong with this picture is that everyone—and I mean EVERYONE!!!—should confidently answer “victor” but just not in the way you may be thinking.
You are the “victor” just like I am. Why? Because God has built us to be victors. The problem is that 99.9% of us just don’t realize that. I’m not talking about being a victor over someone else. I’m talking about just the opposite. Serving others in leaving a victorious life. What???
Look at Jesus. He led a victorious life even though He looked like the victim. He lived a life in service to all of mankind and defeated death, paving a path to eternity for all of us. Jesus was the ultimate VICTOR. And victor is built into each of us, regardless of our circumstances in life. We just don’t realize that or accept it.
Want to be a Victor? Stop thinking about yourself. Stop blaming others if you see yourself as the victim. Stop trying to beat others at life and crown yourself as the victor. Live life as Jesus showed us, as a humble servant, tough and principled but always living in love (the one command Jesus left us with at His death). Think of others before yourself and you will be the Victor. And as the saying goes, “To the victor goes the spoils.” And the spoils are pretty good. Eternal life!
Starting being the Victor this week!
