As we spent this 9/11 remembering the terrible events of eleven years ago, we should cherish the peace we have in our lives. Or if we don’t have peace, we should do everything possible to find it. God intends us to be happy, at peace, and fulfilled. Unfortunately, we get in the way of that happiness, peace, and fulfillment that is God-given but at times seems so elusive.
You won’t find peace in your life if you are not a peacemaker.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9
You have to walk in peace to find peace in your life. Jesus told Peter to put away his sword.
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” Matthew 26:52
Jesus wasn’t just talking about a physical sword. He was talking about any weapon that can pierce a heart, which includes the “sword” of your tongue. That can inflict a lot of damage if you don’t keep it in its place. And you keep your tongue in the right place by having a mind of peace. And peace starts with living a life of love.
A harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
James 3:18
You won’t find lasting peace in your life if your’re not a peacemaker. And you become a peacemaker by thinking, acting, and walking in love. There’s a reason LOVE is a key Secret to Life. God commands us to LOVE and we need to LOVE. It’s that simple.
This is my command: Love each other. John 15:17
LOVE and you will find peace. Start spreading your peace and you may just start an infection that will be catching to others.
