With this life way too short, how do you live it? Go for the gusto and don’t let anyone or anything in your way, knowing this is all there is? Or do you realize, that as short as this life is, there is another one that lasts forever? You can live life for today, or you can live life for today and tomorrow. How you live today determines where you end up tomorrow.
Life is way too short. If you really believe that, you cherish every second. Every second, minute, hour, day, month, and year is a new adventure; totally new and unique, and not like the past. What has happened in the past can shape the future, but only to the degree that you let it. The new can always be new!
In walking down the path of life, you have two ways to live. Live like this is all there is or believe that there is another life after this short one. That life lasts forever. It is the promise of eternity—where time stops—that God guarantees us, especially through his Son, Jesus. In fact, this life is just the opening act to eternity. It’s the warm up.
The trick is to live this life to the fullest—don’t let a second go by—but live it knowing there is forever. However, understand that where you end up forever is determined by how you live this life. Live for others and you end up in a glorious forever of bliss. Live for yourself—and all the gusto you can get—and you end up in a forever of longing. Some call it heaven or hell. Whatever the name, one forever is the ultimate in fulfillment, while the other is emptiness. The choice is yours—and it’s a free choice!
