People around you are always going to do something that hurts your feelings. And those people even include friends and family. We are all flawed humans who tend to look inward to our own interests. So, we end up hurting others and getting hurt. Get over it. And next time you get hurt by someone remember how it feels so you don’t hurt someone else.
Seems like I am going through a period when family and friends are just plain annoying. There are two problems with this feeling. First, that I’m even letting them hurt my feelings. Second, that I’m too focused on my own feelings. People don’t hurt us emotionally; we let them hurt us. I’m letting others hurt me because I’m simply too inward focused right now. Getting the focus off yourself and onto others is a wall to hurt.
Thank God—and, yes, I mean, “Thank God!“—that he loves us unconditionally, no matter what we do. His unconditional love spells out any hurt in God. If not, we would be in big trouble. The emotional and physical hurt in the world today would have God hurling thunderbolts at us if he could hurt. God knows no hurt because he is love. Love always looks outward; not inward. There’s a lesson in that for us.
Try to move your focus today off of you and onto others. My thought for the day. Hope it helps!
Have a GREAT day!
