The only one standing in the way of you realizing your true potential in life is you—led by your ego. Every time I stumble in life—and it’s more than I would like—it’s because I trip over my ego. When you are filled with your own ego it crowds out God in your life. And when God is missing nothing good happens. Nothing. It may feel good for a short time, but not for the long haul of life.
Ego is all about me. I’m at the center of life and I have made my life. In the extreme, ego is my life. When ego takes control God is crowded out.
I want God to lead my life. No, I’m not a puppet on the end of God’s strings. I am my own person with the ability to make any decision I want to make. My decision is to let God lead, setting the direction, and doing my best to follow. I want God shining through in my life; not my ego, which can overrun me at times.
We live in a world of egos. That’s the problem with the world. It’s all about me, and very less about you. I’m trying to change that in my life. But it’s always a battle of my ego versus God.
