One of the most widely quoted and read Bible verses is Psalm 23. It starts with “The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.” The last verse starts with, “Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…” And both will be yours if you first share that same goodness and mercy you want from God with others.
The love that God showers on us, made tangible in His goodness and mercy, is not static. It moves. Like electricity, you will only feel it if God’s love flows through you to others. Otherwise, you will feel nothing.
Want to feel God’s love—at all, or like never before? Then, share His love with others. Let it flow from you. How do you do that? Simply show goodness to others. Not just select people you love or like. Everyone! And show them the same mercy that you want God to show you.
Goodness and mercy. They are God’s promise to each of us all the days of our lives. But, there is a catch. We need to show that same goodness and mercy we want with others. Not to just a few; not just today. Everyone. Everyday of our lives.
Think about this today when goodness and mercy are the farthest things from your heart. Because they are the closest things to God’s heart.
