Imagine being God and looking down at what has unfolded in Paris. In the name of some “god” (and I mean with a small “g”), a band of brutal, savage killers set the world on edge. If you are God you can only be shaking your head, asking yourself what you have done, and weeping as Paris mourns. Fortunately, none of us are God.
It’s time like these when we question God and ask what’s it all about anyway. If you look at this world as all there is, it’s tough to put the past few days into perspective. If you look at this world as only the opening act to another world of eternity, it gets easier to understand. And if you accept that this world will always be an ongoing battle between good and evil, then everything becomes clearer.
Our choices are to refuse to understand and/or do nothing; or understand and do our part to spread good. And spreading good is not hard. It simply involves treating others as you want others to treat you. Let some of that love God showers on you flow through you to others. Start with a smile. Hold a door for someone. Buy someone behind you in line a coffee. LOVE!
Make God smile today. He needs a good one!
