Walked around the desert for 3 years and on several occasions they tried to stone him and throw him off a cliff. He ended up being beaten, spit on, hung from a cross. Judging by the world’s standards—especially in today’s world—Jesus is a loser. The biggest loser.
If you know better, then you are not judging by the world’s standards. Jesus “lost” by the world’s standards to show us there is a new standard. No matter how much stuff we accumulate in this lifetime it’s most certainly not coming with us, wherever we end up.
Jesus taught us how to win at life, no matter what it throws at us.
You either go through this life living to the world’s standards, and what everyone thinks defines worth and success, or you live to another standard—God’s. Your pick.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
