Hope and Faith in Prayer

Boy, am I struggling with several facets of my life, starting with an ailing mom. It’s times like these, when the seas are really rough, that I need to double down on my prayer time. The problem is that I let the anxiety get in the way of quality prayer time. I have too much to do and prayer takes a back seat. I have to force myself to stop and spend some time with God, knowing that in prayer, in God, lies hope and the faith to get through the rough weather.

So, I am making a concerted effort to double down on prayer—not just talking to God but listening to him. That takes opening my mind to God as well as my heart. If I just talk and plead my case I will never hear God fulfilling all my hope and strengthening my faith with his steady hand.

“Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” Mark 4:39-40

Just writing this verse and reading it over calms the waves in my life. I hope you too find peace in this and your own prayer. Take a tip from me and my rough times—God is right there, in your mind and your heart, if you only take the time to listen and talk.

In prayer there is truly hope and faith; it never fails. That’s why I say PRAY—it’s a powerful Secret to Life.

My prayers are with you! Thanks for reading.
