There’s a reason the word “sin” has an “i” right smack in the middle—and a big “I” at that! Sin is all about me. When my world revolves around me, with me at the center of everything, sin is bound to result. It may not be anything you do wrong but it will at least be something you don’t do at all—sin of omission.
Sin is simply all about us. The greater the sin you’ll find the focus more intensely on self. Sin is about doing something wrong, not doing something right, or not doing something at all. That’s why sin has a big “I” staring right at us.
Jesus, the Son of God, came to take away all sins—past, present, and future. He sacrificed his life for us and our sins. It’s interesting that the word “Son” has a big “O” in the middle. That “O” stands for “others.” Jesus was not about the “I” but all about the “O” of you and me.
Start the week by being honest with yourself and ask,“Do I focus most of my time on me or others?”
Have a GREAT week!
