Only One Light Can Break Up the Cloud Hanging Over Your Head

I have a cloud hanging over my head. Can’t really explain why but I think it’s a mixture of too much work to do, too much Christmas anxiety, and a few other “things” mixed in. My mind won’t stop and the more it motors the cloud seems to get denser and darker. I know there is only one light that can break up the cloud and that light is Jesus. So, that’s the direction I’m looking for help.

It’s ironic that as we enter the Christmas season the more our lives can get off kilter. There is so much to do that we take even less time, if any, focusing on the true meaning—the only meaning!—of this season. It’s a time of birth, both in terms of remembering the birth of Jesus—the greatest gift God gives us—and the time for the rebirth of Jesus in our lives.

I’m trying to think of the cloud that must have been hanging over Mary’s and Joseph’s heads as they left home and then couldn’t find anywhere but a stable to birth their child. The more I think about that the smaller the cloud over my head seems to be. Most of my troubles are about “things” that pale in comparison to what some are facing this season—cancer, poverty, loneliness, death, heartache, etc.

I think by only trying as hard as you can to open up your heart and mind to the rebirth of Jesus in you, can you get rid of the cloud over your head. When you let Jesus in there is a light that starts shining so brightly that there simply can’t be a cloud overhead.

I know that to some this seems a little sing-songy, overly religious, and just too pat and simple. But it really works, and it’s life; not religion. If there ever is a time to let Jesus in your life—for the first time or the 100th time—it’s this season of birth. If you just give it a try— a real try, not half-hearted!—the light can shine so bright that no cloud is possible in your life.

Sorry for the length of this post. But simply writing it is helping me realize the power that Jesus has had in my life when I let Him in. I hope that reading this helps at least one other person and you share these thoughts with others. We need less clouds and more light in this world of ours!

Let the light shine today! Have a BRILLIANT day!

I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.
