God Knows You Are Special. Do You?

You are one-of-a-kind. Even if you are an exact identical twin, you are totally unique. God threw away the mold when he made you; just like he does with every person he creates. You are not just special, novel, and unique—how many ways can I say you are different!—physically, but you have a purpose in life that is all yours. God knows you are special and designed you for a specific purpose. The question is—Do you know you are special and do you understand you purpose in life?

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

It wasn’t just Jeremiah and the other prophets called by God for a specific purpose. Each one of us are called by God to a special purpose. The problem is we are generally so out of touch with God that we are like the Israelites aimlessly wandering the desert with no direction in life. How many dead ends did they hit? Only when they were in concert with God did they move forward and eventually cross into the Promised Land.

If you don’t stop and LISTEN for/to God you simply can’t be in touch with Him. If you are not in touch with God you can’t know your real purpose in life. You may think you are special for your own reasons—a lot of people do in this “selfie” world of ours—but not for the reasons God knows you are special. You may think you understand your own self-directed purpose in life but you won’t know your God-directed purpose in life.

I know it’s repetitive but LISTEN for/to God. Take some time to simply get in touch with God. I guarantee that if you spend the time and open up your mind and heart to God, you will understand. You will see yourself in a new light and with a new purpose. You will be so much happier, fulfilled, and at peace with yourself.

You are special and do have a very specific purpose in life.
