Do you judge others? Do you condemn others? Do you forgive? Do you give? These are four important questions to ask yourself every day. Ask yourself them now, then read on to find what Jesus had to say about them.
Don’t judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you.
Luke 6:37-38
Couldn’t be any clearer. Don’t judge or condemn others. Forgive and give. In fact, forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and you will be given. Jesus goes on to say that before you focus on the speck in someone else’s eye take the log out of your own eye. Translation: Look at your own faults before criticizing others.
If there is one passage from the Bible that you should focus on, and read over and over again, make it Luke 6:27-43. Jesus lays out how to live your life, starting with loving your enemies and literally giving the shirt off your back.
I am amazed at how many so-called “Christians” can be so judgmental and self-righteous. If they really follow the Christ, they need to understand what Jesus said about looking inward before looking outward and putting others before yourself.
