The focus today is on Cyber Monday, after enduring Black Friday and even early sales on Thanksgiving Day. Our focus should be on the rebirth of Jesus in our lives.
We spent the weekend putting up the tree and assorted Christmas decorations. I’ll spend a little time surfing the Internet later today for deals on presents. However, what I am committing myself to this month is Jesus being born again in my life.
Jesus was born into this world as one of us. He is our personal Savior and the model for us of how to live life. As all the secular aspects of Christmas overwhelm us we need to stay focused on what the celebration is all about—remembering the birth of Jesus and the rebirth that should take place in our lives.
This is a great time of year not only to create a list of what presents you will buy but to think about the presence of God in your life. It’s a time to remember God’s gift to us of Jesus and to thank him for the most precious present we will ever receive. It’s a time to let Jesus be reborn in our lives, regardless of how much he is a part of our lives. It’s a time for renewal, joy, and peace.
I wish you the very best that Christmas has to offer as you think about what this season means to you and your life.
