Yes. You can read the book (Heaven is for Real) about a little boy’s journey to heaven and back, or wait for the movie based on the book due out for Easter 2014. Or you can read any number of books about heaven experiences or, better yet, talk to a person who has had a “heaven” experience. My wife is a nurse who in her critical care days saw these experiences up close with patients on death’s edge. Or you can READ the Bible and understand that eternity is God’s promise to us. How we LIVE this life depends on where we spend that eternity—in heaven or down there.
I have written about this many times before but will repeat it again—this life is just the opening act for eternity. How we LIVE this life is the set-up for where we spend eternity. If we LIVE this life understanding that it is only the beginning, and not the end, it puts so much into perspective. I don’t dwell on heaven or what it is like. I just know it is real because God promises it. And for the doubting Thomases out there talk to someone who has had a “heaven” experience.
If we LIVE this life knowing that heaven awaits, this life becomes so much happier, fulfilling, and peaceful. We don’t have to grab for every “thing” or try to cling so desperately for youth. We can simply take each day as it comes and treat it as a New Year onto itself. Every day offers a new beginning in a life that is only the beginning.
Make this a great, new day in a life that ultimately leads to eternity. LIVE this life walking the path that leads to the eternity of heaven.
