The Devil Tries to Throw You Off Your Path

You have a path to God. It’s that road less traveled that, regardless of what life presents, leads to God. The devil tries his best to throw you off that path. He whispers in your ear anything that will make you doubt your direction in life. He’s great at telling you to turn right or left when the path leads straight ahead. His reason for being is to keep you from God. That’s because he knows that only with God will you be truly happy. Your unhappiness is his goal.

It’s tough to talk or write about the devil. Talk of the devil tends to turn people away. The devil is OK for the movies but thinking about the devil as real and in the world is too much for many people. The fact is the devil is all too real. He is active and about in the world. But he does his best work behind the scenes. In fact, he doesn’t want any overt recognition. Worming his way into your life and keeping you from God is what he is after day in and day out. He revels in your unhappiness. And you not finding God—whether you know it or not—is the ultimate unhappiness.

As I have written before, the right path in life leads to God. I believe that finding that path in life is helped by understanding there are at least 7 Real Secrets to Life that I have found—LISTEN, READ, LOVE, FIGHT, BELIEVE, LIVE, and PRAY. One of those is FIGHT the devil because he is trying to knock you off that path every day. He is most effective whispering doubt in your ear and doing anything to stop you from thinking about or walking towards God.

How do you FIGHT the devil? By trying to walk right for God. LISTEN for/to God and BELIEVE that with him in your life you can do anything. READ the Bible because it provides so many answers, especially in terms of God’s clear command for us to walk in LOVE. LIVE this life feeling God’s LOVE and letting it flow to others. PRAY all the time, not just talking to God but LISTENing to him.

Frustrate the devil today. Ignore the whispers in your ear and focus on the path that leads to God. Start your day off with a smile and keep smiling no matter what happens. You can do anything, be anything. Just BELIEVE. That’s the best way to FIGHT the devil! It’s actually easy if you just give it a try!
