In case you haven’t had time to LISTEN lately, Jesus is talking to you. Yes, you! His words flow into our lives if we just take a little time out of our busy lives to LISTEN. Of course, you also have to keep your minds and hearts open to hear Jesus.
Unfortunately, there are two big obstacles to hearing Jesus in our lives. First, we are way to busy. We let stress overwhelm us to the point that we spend more time worrying than doing. Second, we let doubt crowd out everything that is really important, or should be important in our lives. We rely on what we can immediately see, hear, and touch/taste as reality. Anything else becomes unimportant or downright silly. As we become more attached to all the things around us we lose our connection with Jesus and his words.
I know that to some who have read this far all this may sound “unreal” or just like holy bunk. Trust me—the seeds of doubt try to take hold in my mind, and heart, all the time. They are like weeds that crowd out everything good and healthy if you let them grow.
But what may sound so “unreal” is more real than we believe. Jesus left us his words as a foundation for growing and living our lives. His words live in us if we will only LISTEN and let them grow in our minds and hearts. When I do this everything in life becomes clearer and I feel happier, and more peaceful and fulfilled.
Take at least 10 minutes out of your hectic day TODAY to hear Jesus. He’s there for the listening if you just open up to him. You may just like what you hear.
