What’s Love? Christ Dying For You!

God demonstrated his unconditional love for us in the most extreme way possible—God gave us his only Son. Jesus’ life showed us how to live our lives. His death liberated us from our sins.

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

When you get mad at someone today, or simply are gruff and don’t smile, think about God’s one simple command to us: LOVE! And think about how God backed that talk with action. Jesus is the proof. Before he left us he passed on that command.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12

Very simple but key thoughts for today and everyday.

Never Look Down on Anyone Unless You’re Helping Them Up!

This short video is well worth the watch.

How many people have you passed on the street as if they weren’t even there? How many people did you fail to see God in their faces?

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” Matthew 25:35-40

The line at the end of the video is a real life lesson: Never look down on anyone unless you’re helping them up!

Do You Reflect God?

“Someone has said that the greatest sin is to make God unattractive.  Unfortunately, we can do this not only by the words we preach but more so by our very demeanor. Today we ask ourselves, ‘How approachable and kind am I to the people I live with, work with, serve or meet on the street? Do I reflect the amiable God I believe in?'” Sr. Melannie Svoboda, S.N.D., Living Faith Continue reading “Do You Reflect God?”

There is Real Power in Prayer

If you don’t think prayer works, think again. Or take the time to really close off the world and pray. If you really try, by taking the time to open up your heart as well as your mind, you will find that prayer works. There are some things that prayer is and isn’t. You need to know those before you try, or simply dismiss prayer as not working. Continue reading “There is Real Power in Prayer”

Whatever You Have, It’s From God!

I’ve worked hard my entire life. I wasn’t handed any inheritance. What I have I have earned. But everything I have is from God. I came into this world in a naked body. When I leave, this body will be left behind six feet under. Everything I have earned has been earned but it all came from the grace of God. Continue reading “Whatever You Have, It’s From God!”

What is Jesus Saying Today?

He is most likely speechless and saying nothing. Just shaking his head in disbelief. Ray Rise, Adrian Peterson, and the violence mess in the NFL. ISIS/ISIL, whatever you want to call it, and public beheadings simply to get attention. Rampant rapes in India, with women treated like dirt. The Catholic Church and the endless pedophile mess. It goes on and on, all over the world. Forget WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). It’s all about WWJND (What Would Jesus Not Do). Because WWJND is the way this world is spinning. All Violence, Domestic and Other, is Against the Nature of God

I am shocked and disgusted by Ray Rice, a powerful NFL football player, slugging his then finance and knocking her cold. Domestic violence is a real cancer that needs to be stopped. But violence of any type also needs to be stopped. In case anyone forgets, “God is love.” (1 John 4:16) That doesn’t mean selective “love.” It means 100% pure love at its core. God is not only love but is defined as love. So, violence of any type, domestic or other, is against the very nature of God. Gotta Love Tim Tebow!

We need more Tim Tebows in this world. I’m sure he’s not a saint—we all have our demons—but he seems to do the right thing. In this case, bringing some joy to a young woman who has struggled with a terrible disease since she was 15. When some NFL owner gets the courage, and wisdom, to put Tim Tebow on his team, that team will win—just like every other team Tim Tebow has played on since pony league. In the meantime, it’s great to see the joy Tim Tebow spreads. Check it out here.

Boby or Soul?

You can live by your body or your soul. It’s that simple. Live with your body ruling and bodily pleasures rule. Live by your soul ruling and you live to a higher cause, not just on this earth but in the next, better life to come. Because we all have free will, the choice is yours.
