God Asks, “What Can’t You Do?”

And you should answer, “I can do ANYTHING!!!” Because you can. The Bible and history are filled with ordinary people who have done extraordinary things. Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Peter, and Paul. Saved mankind from destruction, fathered a people under God, saved the same people, led the people out of captivity to the Promised Land, was the rock of a new church of people, and brought the message of God to all peoples. A little peasant girl (Joan of Arc) under the age of twenty led her country in battle. Today, another little girl (Malala Yousafzai) under the age of twenty is leading the world in battle against ignorance. You can’t do something? Think again!!!  Continue reading “God Asks, “What Can’t You Do?””

Do You Know Your Life Path?

We all have a life path. There is one straight direction leading to our Creator, but for almost all of us the path is twisty, bumpy and has offshoots that are dead ends. But that one clear, straight, smooth path exists—we just have to LISTEN to God to find it.

I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17

Be Strong & Bold!

Just one quick but good thought for the day…

Be strong and bold… because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

These were among Moses parting words to the Israelites when he told them that they would be crossing over into new land—the Promised Land.

A new anything—job, move, etc.—can seem daunting. But be strong and bold moving forward. God goes with you if you keep Him with you.

Your Promised Land waits!

On God, Moving Mountains, and Doubt

Let me make this very clear—You can move mountains in your life! God made you, is in you, and has built power in you that few realize or understand. You can do anything. The only thing holding you back is you—and doubt. My bet is that right now doubt is in your mind saying, “This is nonsense.” Continue reading “On God, Moving Mountains, and Doubt”

The Little Red Devil in Your Ear

There is a devil whispering in your ear, including mine—including us all. The problem is that devil is real, not little, and not like some cute child dressed up for Halloween. If we listen to the devil we will hear him. If we give in to his temptation we will slide way off the straight path of life and end up in a dead end—or worse. That’s why we have to FIGHT the devil every day. And as I have written many times, the way we FIGHT is to Continue reading “The Little Red Devil in Your Ear”

It’s Tough to Love as God Commands!!!

God gives us one simple, basic command in life—LOVE. I said it was simple, not always easy. I’m going through a personal situation now where loving is the last thing I feel like doing. I know that God wants me to love the person but I can barely look her in the face, it’s that bad. But God doesn’t give any passes. He asks us to LOVE others just as he LOVES us. No matter what we do, God still LOVES us. So, when someone hurts us, God simply expects us to LOVE. Continue reading “It’s Tough to Love as God Commands!!!”

Not Just Another Day. It’s the Lord’s Day!

It doesn’t matter what today holds for you—good news or bad, work or vacation. There is one incontestable, immutable fact—today is one of a kind. Other days to come may look like a repeat of today but when today is gone it is gone. So, get the most out of today. And remember that this day, like every day, was created by the Lord. So, treat it as such and find something to rejoice in it.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

You’ve Got a Friend

A few weeks ago I went to a James Taylor concert. I can tell you he still has it at age 67. He sang songs from his new album but belted out all the old ones like “You’ve Got a Friend.” As he was singing that one it made me think that we always have a friend a heartbeat away that we can call on anytime, anywhere. That friend is God. Continue reading “You’ve Got a Friend”

Bible Verse to Live Life By

It’s impossible to single out one Bible verse or passage to live life by because there are so many. However, for me Psalm 23 says it all. The Lord takes care of everything. No matter how bad things get He is always there. Even in the face of my “enemies” the Lord provides. Goodness and mercy are always there leading to a clear path to eternity. I not only have Psalm 23 committed to memory but I try to make it a part of my being. It’s a great tonic when times get tough! Continue reading “Bible Verse to Live Life By”
