Facing Your Giants

We all have “giants” in our lives. Those seemingly monumental obstacles that we can’t face or don’t want to face. If we just BELIEVE we can face anything—do anything and be anyone. But we let doubt, and those whispers in our ears, convince us that we can’t possibly face our giants. So, we give up or simply lay down in life.

Stand up to your giants! If you want some inspiration, look no further than Jesus who faced giant after giant, the final one being a brutal death on the cross.  And if you need some visible inspiration watch this clip from the movie, Facing the Giants. Then, watch the movie.

Don’t let doubt stop you from facing the giants in your life. Believe! And slay some giants like David. Or, better yet, like Jesus!

Be Strong in the Lord and in His Mighty Power

In title, this is a message from Paul to the people of Ephesus but it was more likely meant for a broader group of Gentiles.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10

I think it is a message for all of us—you and me—and generations to come. I have found that one of the Secrets to Life is BELIEVE. Paul’s thoughts of “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power” are the essence of BELIEVE. You can do anything, be anything if you just BELIEVE. If you are strong in the Lord, and HIs beyond mighty power, what can’t you do? As I say over and over again, the only thing holding you back is doubt and the only one holding you back is you.

Tap into the all-mighty power of God. Be strong in Him today!

Your Ego Versus God

The only one standing in the way of you realizing your true potential in life is you—led by your ego. Every time I stumble in life—and it’s more than I would like—it’s because I trip over my ego. When you are filled with your own ego it crowds out God in your life. And when God is missing nothing good happens. Nothing. It may feel good for a short time, but not for the long haul of life. Do You Know Your Life Path?

We all have a life path. There is one straight direction leading to our Creator, but for almost all of us the path is twisty, bumpy and has offshoots that are dead ends. But that one clear, straight, smooth path exists—we just have to LISTEN to God to find it.

I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17

Be Strong & Bold!

Just one quick but good thought for the day…

Be strong and bold… because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

These were among Moses parting words to the Israelites when he told them that they would be crossing over into new land—the Promised Land.

A new anything—job, move, etc.—can seem daunting. But be strong and bold moving forward. God goes with you if you keep Him with you.

The Little Red Devil in Your Ear

There is a devil whispering in your ear, including mine—including us all. The problem is that devil is real, not little, and not like some cute child dressed up for Halloween. If we listen to the devil we will hear him. If we give in to his temptation we will slide way off the straight path of life and end up in a dead end—or worse. It’s Tough to Love as God Commands!!!

God gives us one simple, basic command in life—LOVE. I said it was simple, not always easy. I’m going through a personal situation now where loving is the last thing I feel like doing. I know that God wants me to love the person but I can barely look her in the face, it’s that bad. But God doesn’t give any passes. He asks us to LOVE others just as he LOVES us.
