God calling me? Get real!

Yes, God is calling you. Yes, I mean you!

If you believe that God created you, why do you have a hard time believing that he is calling you? Stop reading if you don’t believe God created you—if you think that you are some simple godless biological act. I can’t even Continue reading “God calling me? Get real!”

Your Opening Act to Eternity

Life on earth is not the end. Live life knowing that an eternity with God waits. Life on earth will take on a completely new perspective.

Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

There are two undeniable, uncontestable facts of life Continue reading “Your Opening Act to Eternity”

With a little faith you can move mountains!

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.” Matthew 21:21

Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Peter, and Paul. Saved mankind from destruction, fathered a people under God, saved the same people, led the people out of captivity to the Promised Land, was the rock of a new church of people, and brought the message of God to all peoples. They did all this with one simple thing Continue reading “With a little faith you can move mountains!”

Being Bubba; Being Christian

It was exciting watching Bubba Watson win the Masters. The guy bucks convention left and right — has never had a golf coach, plays with a pink driver, and does goofy YouTube videos. “Being Bubba” is just throwing caution to the wind on the golf course and letting your emotions and the tears fly in public.

What I really love about “being Bubba” is Continue reading “Being Bubba; Being Christian”

“Love One Another”

As we approach the glory of Easter, we first need to pass through the horror of Jesus sacrificing his life for each one of us. Before he did so, he said something very clear and direct, leaving no room for guessing as to what he meant:

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:12-13

Jesus expects us to love one another as he loves us. His love is unconditional and, to the extreme, sacrificial. Yet, we can’t even get close to this. Continue reading ““Love One Another””

God is love. Love him. We love him by loving everyone.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8

When we think of words to describe God we typically think of all-powerful, all-mighty, creator, infinite, all knowing, etc. God is often described in words that are removed and almost cold. Our visuals relating to God are things like thunder and lightening, and a booming voice from on high. However, there is one simple word that describes God: love. Continue reading “God is love. Love him. We love him by loving everyone.”
