All your possessions get wiped out. Your children are killed. You are afflicted with the most hideous sores. Your friends not only offer no support but they blame you for everything that has happened to you. Can’t get any worse! So, what does Job do. He BELIEVEs! Continue reading “BELIEVE Like Job!”

Just BELIEVE!!!
There is so much more you in you if you just BELIEVE!!! God made you and is part of your very makeup. You were formed in God’s image and likeness by God. So, what can’t you do? The only one holding you back is you and the doubt that is whispered in your ear. Continue reading “Just BELIEVE!!!”
Get Over It: The Devil is Real. Now, Get On With Life!
I know that most people don’t want to talk about the devil. They would rather relegate Satan to horror movies. But he is very real and very active in the world. We just need to be aware of that and then get on with life. A life walking towards God; not the other direction to the devil. Continue reading “Get Over It: The Devil is Real. Now, Get On With Life!”
God Says, LOVE!” We Throw It Back In His Face!
Life can get so difficult, especially as we get older. But God means life to be so very, very—and I mean VERY—simple. He commands us to do one very, very simple thing: LOVE. And all we do is ignore God and throw it back in his face by totally ignoring that command to LOVE. Look at the world around us. Defined by LOVE? Clearly not. Look at your own life. Defined by LOVE? If like mine, I bet not. Continue reading “God Says, LOVE!” We Throw It Back In His Face!”
What Does the Bible Answer?
Everything! And I mean EVERYTHING! Yes, as absurd as it may sound, every answer to every question you have about life will come out of reading the Bible. Look closer at what I just wrote. Every question you have about life is not necessarily in the Bible but will come out of you reading the Bible. The answers come from you! What? Continue reading “What Does the Bible Answer?”
Hold Your Hands Over Your Ears And Listen For/To God
How can you hear God when you put your hands over your ears? That’s exactly the message: You can’t possibly “hear” God if you don’t drown out all the background noise of this world. You need to stop, take a deep breath, cut out the background noise, and you will “hear” God in your life. Guaranteed. Continue reading “Hold Your Hands Over Your Ears And Listen For/To God”
Humility Kickstarts the World Go ‘Round
You may have heard the song Love Makes the World Go ‘Round written by Bob Merrill for the musical Carnival!. Love should make the world go around because it is the one, only, and very simple command that God gives us and Jesus redelivered and lived. But the kickstart to love is humility, where you think more of others than yourself.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:3
Sunday or Everyday God?
I’ll put it right out there for all—my New Year’s resolution is to make God every day, not just Sundays. Check that; make God an every second God, not just a God for every day. What do I mean? For many Christians, God is a Sunday God. He stays in that place of worship Sunday, and just maybe we let God live with us for the rest of the day. But come Monday, and the “real” world revs up for another week, we leave God behind. Continue reading “Sunday or Everyday God?”
Forget the Past—God Does!
Here’s a great verse to jump forward into the New Year…
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Isaiah 43:18:19
The wonder and grace of God is that He forgets the past—the past year, day, and minute. Every second forward is a new step for you because it’s a new step for God. He gave us His only Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins—past, present, and future. He gave us a perpetual future of hope.
The New Year symbolizes a new beginning. However, in fact, every second of every day presents the opportunity for a new beginning.
Have a GREAT New Year. Forget your past. God does!
Finding Jesus
It’s not hard. First, look in the mirror. There is Jesus. Next, look around you. There is Jesus. There, there, and there—in everyone you see. Continue reading “Finding Jesus”
