Made in the Image of God

Love quotes or thoughts that you can carry around and really think about. Here’s one for today:

“Being made in the image of God invests us with a portable spirituality center. No matter where we go, so long as we carry this core identity with us, we remain spiritually impervious to the ups and downs of external circumstances.” Naomi H. Rosenblatt and Joshua Horwitz, Wrestling with Angels

As you think about this, remember that God is defined as love. He is love. So being made in the image and likeness of God means you are love—or, should be love.

Have a GREAT day knowing that God made you. He is in you!

This is the Day…

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 114:24). I’m remembered once again on this beautiful summer day that a) the Lord has made it; b) it is totally different and unique; and c) it will be one day off our lives when it is over. So, enjoy today! No matter what you are doing enjoy today. I am rushing around like crazy to go on vacation, have tons of work to finish, and have to drive 3 hours to be deposed. Not fun! But I intend to enjoy today. It is truly special.

We all have good and bad days. As I related, my day today will not be fun. But God created it not for us to wish the day away. He wants us to bask in it. And Jesus “came that they [us] may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10). So, don’t let Jesus’ sacrifice go for naught. Enjoy today!

I’m off for a week but will likely post here and there.

Enjoy!!!

This Life is Too Short!

With this life way too short, how do you live it? Go for the gusto and don’t let anyone or anything in your way, knowing this is all there is? Or do you realize, that as short as this life is, there is another one that lasts forever? You can live life for today, or you can live life for today and tomorrow. How you live today determines where you end up tomorrow. Continue reading “This Life is Too Short!”

Where Does God Live?

The sages say that the answer to the question, “Where does God live?” is “Where you look for him.'”
Wendy Mogul
The Blessings of a Skinned Knee

If you don’t look for God you won’t find Him—even though he is right here!

We Are All Free This Independence Day!

It doesn’t matter what country you live in, what “religion” you are, or any other artificial differences we humans use to pit one against the other. We are all free and equal, and independent, under the eyes of God. He sent His only Son to set us free from sin and make us one people. A people who Jesus commanded to love.

Something to think about this on the 4th of July. And here’s my post from last year that says it all—The MOST Important Independence Day!

Have a GREAT day—wherever you are. You’re free!

Christian Acid Test #2—Forgiveness

I wrote a few days ago about the acid test of a real Christian is living in LOVE. God the Father first commanded us to LOVE. In order to open up our deaf ears the Father sent His only Son to repeat the command—LOVE. As is often the case when I write a post I end up being faced with it head on. A family situation is making it hard to do anything but LOVE. So, I’m trying my best to forgive in order to LOVE. Continue reading “Christian Acid Test #2—Forgiveness”

Are You Christian? Here’s the Acid Test.

LOVE!!! If you walk in love and believe that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you are Christian. Note the first criteria that you must walk in love. It’s not sufficient that you simply believe in Jesus. There are a lot of so called “christians” (intentional little “c”) out there who walk in anything but love. Unfortunately, they are not real Christians.  Continue reading “Are You Christian? Get Real—The Devil is for Real!

I don’t live life obsessed with the devil. But I also don’t live it ignoring, or not believing, that the devil is for real. Open your eyes and see that evil is across the globe, a daily reality of life. And those whispers in your ear, especially the ones of doubt telling what you can’t do, are not from God. Get over it—the devil is real, alive in the world. Deal with it by acknowledging the reality and staying close to God, listening for/to him. Continue reading “Get Real—The Devil is for Real!”
