If we have 16 hours awake today—taking off 8 hours of sleep time—that’s 960 minutes. If we give God just 10 minutes today that’s only a measly 1% of our awake time. How much time do you think you should give God today? That’s a good question to ask today, and every day! Continue reading “Have 10 Minutes for God Today?”

Do You Recognize Jesus?
Easter’s over. We say that, “Jesus Is Risen!” But do we live Jesus is risen? Are we like the two disciples transfixed talking about Jesus so much that we can’t even recognize Jesus walking with us? Like most you probably say, “Of course, I would recognize Jesus if He were walking with me!” But do you know that Jesus will be walking with you today and I bet you don’t recognize Him at all! Continue reading “Do You Recognize Jesus?”
You’re Nailed to That Cross!
You may think that Jesus was the only person nailed to the cross but you are right there with him. That is, your sins are nailed there as well. And they are your sins so you are nailed as well. The trick is how you get down. Continue reading “You’re Nailed to That Cross!”
Do You Demand Service or Serve?
There are two paths in life: one is demanding service and the other is serving. It doesn’t matter whether in your work or personal life. You are either the type of person that demands service or who wants to serve. It’s a good week to think about this—and really be honest with yourself!—as we contemplate how Jesus lived his life. So, which path are you on? Continue reading “Do You Demand Service or Serve?”
Would You Walk Past This Homeless Child?
Watch this video and be honest with yourself—Would you walk past this homeless child? So many people did until just one person stopped. And look who stopped. Sobering.
Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of those who are members of my family, you did it to me. Matthew 25:40
Who will you pass by today—or stop and help?
Give to everyone who begs from you. Luke 6:30
Time to Die
You read it right—it’s time to die. Not in the way you are thinking but dying to Jesus. He died for us. We need to die to him. What does this mumbo-jumbo mean in a practical sense? It simply means if you are going to be a true Christian—in action, not just title—you need to leave “you” behind and start focusing on others. That’s what Jesus did and if you are going to really be a follower you need to follow Jesus’ lead. It’s that simple. Continue reading “Time to Die”
Martha, Martha…
Picture you have invited Jesus into your home. Are you Martha who was focused on getting the meal ready and associated chores or are you sister Mary who sat at Jesus’ feet and listened? Step back for a minute and really think about this because it has so much to say about your life—and how you are living it. It’s a virtual mirror on life! Continue reading “Martha, Martha…”
Jesus in Disbelief!!!
Imagine looking down on this world. There is violence across the globe and racial tensions everywhere you turn in the US. Slurs and shootings have dominated the news this week. Sure, we have made progress since Selma but how much have we really made? Jesus has to be looking at this and thinking, “This is what I gave my life for? Doesn’t anyone remember my last command to LOVE?” Continue reading “Jesus in Disbelief!!!”
What Does the Bible Answer?
Everything! And I mean EVERYTHING! Yes, as absurd as it may sound, every answer to every question you have about life will come out of reading the Bible. Look closer at what I just wrote. Every question you have about life is not necessarily in the Bible but will come out of you reading the Bible. The answers come from you! What? Continue reading “What Does the Bible Answer?”
Sunday or Everyday God?
I’ll put it right out there for all—my New Year’s resolution is to make God every day, not just Sundays. Check that; make God an every second God, not just a God for every day. What do I mean? For many Christians, God is a Sunday God. He stays in that place of worship Sunday, and just maybe we let God live with us for the rest of the day. But come Monday, and the “real” world revs up for another week, we leave God behind. Continue reading “Sunday or Everyday God?”
