No One Can Steal Your Joy—Only You Can Do That!

Repeat after me, “No one can steal my joy—only I can do that.” There is no friend, co-worker, family member, boss, etc. who can steal your joy in life. No one! Only YOU can steal your joy. Continue reading “No One Can Steal Your Joy—Only You Can Do That!”

Are You Connected to the Spirit of God? Here’s the Test…

We all have the Spirit of God in us. That’s because God created us. We don’t have to go through some rite to connect with the Spirit in us; we need to do it by action. Here’s the test if you are connected to the Spirit… Continue reading “Are You Connected to the Spirit of God? Here’s the Test…”

It’s Tough Being Christian

It’s not that the Christian faith has been tried and found difficult, but rather it’s been found difficult and left untried.” G.K. Chesterfield

This is a follow-up to my last post—Do You Pass the Christian Test? Chesterfield said it all too well, with some embellishing by me—it’s difficult being a Christian and left mostly untried by so many. Many “Christians” are so good at talking the talk but stumble when they try to walk the talk. In fact, many don’t even try to walk. It’s easier just talking. Do You Pass the Christian Test?

What’s the one word that really means you are a Christian? If you answered “Jesus” or “Christ” you get partial credit. What is the one word that means you really follow Jesus Christ and, therefore, are really a Christian? Continue reading “Do You Pass the Christian Test?”

The Power of Negative Thinking

Positive thinking has a lot of power. That’s because God wants you thinking positively. Nothing—and I mean NOTHING—negative comes from God. However, negative thinking has even more power. That’s because it grows like a cancer, starting out as a small negative thought and, in the extreme, ending up being all-consuming. Am I saying something is more powerful than God? Up or Down, It’s a God-Given Day!

Let’s be honest—every day doesn’t feel like a great day, let alone even a good day. Yesterday was not a good day for me. It was a day filled with bumps and doubts that made those bumps even bigger. But this morning I latch onto the fact that it was a God-given day. Every day should be a great day when your life is God-centered. However, the fact is we are fallible humans prone to twists and turns in our lives, and centering our lives on anything but God. Continue reading “Up or Down, It’s a God-Given Day!”

What’s Your Life Purpose?

We all have a purpose in life. It’s a God-given purpose. No matter how seemingly insignificant or earth-moving the world may deem that purpose, God deems your purpose to be special and unique. You’re not a puppet on God’s strings fulfilling that purpose. You have total free will in living your life. But there’s a road for you that is one of a kind and untraveled. Continue reading “What’s Your Life Purpose?”

Is Heaven REALLY for Real?

Yes. You can read the book (Heaven is for Real) about a little boy’s journey to heaven and back, or wait for the movie based on the book due out for Easter 2014. Or you can read any number of books about heaven experiences or, better yet, talk to a person who has had a “heaven” experience. My wife is a nurse who in her critical care days saw these experiences up close with patients on death’s edge. Or you can READ the Bible and understand that eternity is God’s promise to us. How we LIVE this life depends on where we spend that eternity—in heaven or down there. Continue reading “Is Heaven REALLY for Real?”
