“What are you looking for?” Jesus asks the two disciples who were following him (John 1:38). What a profound question to ask yourself. What are you looking for in life? What’s important; what’s not? A very simple Bible verse that packs a real punch if you really sit down and ponder it. That’s the thing about the Bible, which can seem old, stale, and complicated at times: The simplest is the most profound! Continue reading “Most Profound Bible Verses Are The Simplest!”

My New Year’s Resolution: Me or God?
I have a very simple New Year’s resolution for 2016. I am going to answer the question of what my life is about—me or God? Who’s will guides my life—mine or God’s? Am I living just for me or for God? The answers may sound easy but it’s all in the execution. Talk is cheap. Actions speak a thousand words. Me or God? Continue reading “My New Year’s Resolution: Me or God?”
The Lord’s Prayer — Nourish, Forgive & Deliver
Jesus taught us how to pray. Commonly referred to as The Lord’s Prayer, it was Jesus’ gift to us before He gave up His life for us. After praising God, the “ask” in the prayer of God can be summed up in 3 words—Nourish, Forgive, and Deliver. Simple. Continue reading “The Lord’s Prayer — Nourish, Forgive & Deliver”
Paris, Evil & God
My heart goes out to the people of Paris as they try to recover from the horrific, evil attacks of 11/13. I pray that they somehow rally and unite against the darkness that has fallen on the city of lights. This is a time for prayer, especially for the victims and their families, but also a time to embrace God to help us stop the evil that is darkening the world.
Evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2 Timothy 3:13
As we let God slip out of our lives, evil is winning. This is a time to find God again in our lives and let His light shine on the darkness. There will be repercussions for what happened in Paris yesterday, and an escalation of the wars (and I mean plural “wars”) in the Middle East. However, this starts and ends with God in our lives. And the sooner we get that into our heads, and that each of us has a role to play, the sooner we will start rolling back the evil tide. And, yes, it is that very simple!
Vive la France! May God be with you—and all of us!
Want Forgiveness from God? Then, FORGIVE!!!
I have written about this just recently but am shocked at how little forgiveness there is in the world today. In fact, pointing fingers and seeking vengeance is the norm. So, how can any Christian pray the Lord’s prayer as Jesus taught us—”Forgive us as we forgive others”—and not forgive? Worse yet, how can any Christian go on the offensive at getting back or even with someone? The answers? They are not a follower of Jesus. No matter what they may call themselves, they are not a Christian. A Christian follows Jesus Christ—in word and action. All the time—not just when convenient. Continue reading “Want Forgiveness from God? Then, FORGIVE!!!”
The Only Name Calling is God
We live in a world of name callers. Just take one look at the U.S. presidential campaign. It’s really all about name calling. Pointing out the problems with the other candidate and calling names. Look at your own life. Are you a name caller? The only name you should be calling is God. Continue reading “The Only Name Calling is God”
God Says, “Just Smile!”
God means life to be so very simple. We are the ones who complicate life beyond all complication. God wants us to live life to the fullest. We are the ones who manage to live it to the least. That’s because we ignore God’s one command to LOVE. And you start loving with one simple little gesture—a smile. Continue reading “God Says, “Just Smile!””
Not Just Another Day. It’s the Lord’s Day!
It doesn’t matter what today holds for you—good news or bad, work or vacation. There is one incontestable, immutable fact—today is one of a kind. Other days to come may look like a repeat of today but when today is gone it is gone. So, get the most out of today. And remember that this day, like every day, was created by the Lord. So, treat it as such and find something to rejoice in it.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Charleston Christians: True Grace Under Fire
No one is perfect, but if you want to look into the eyes of true Christians start with the victims, families, and friends of the “Charleston Nine” from the Emanuel AME Church. The victims are said to have forgiven their killer before he shot them. The families have extended that forgiveness. They have taken God’s command to LOVE to heart. They are true profiles in courage. They are true grace under fire. Continue reading “Charleston Christians: True Grace Under Fire”
Why Can’t We Simply Get Along?
God gave us one, simply, easy command—LOVE! He sent His Son to show us how to LOVE. In a clear lesson on the ultimate in LOVE, Jesus gave His life for all of us. So, why do we have such a difficult time following God’s command to LOVE? Continue reading “Why Can’t We Simply Get Along?”
