God is Love—Which is Why There is Little Love in This World.

John said it best and very simply—God is love. (1 John 4:8). It could not be simpler. God is pure love—the essence of what love is. There is a reason why we find so little love in the world today. We have shut God out of our lives. Continue reading “God is Love—Which is Why There is Little Love in This World.”

Has God Left Us?

After the bombing in Turkey I heard a news commentator ask the question “Has God left us?” to a pastor who had witnessed the incident. Of course, it’s an absurd question. The real question is, “Have we left God?” And I think the clear answer is a resounding YES!!! Continue reading “Has God Left Us?”

Christian in Word or Action?

A lot of people say they are “Christian.” In fact, close to a third of the people on the planet say they are followers of Jesus Christ. However, I’m wondering if that is “Christian” in word only or in action? After all, talk is cheap. Continue reading “Christian in Word or Action?”

In the Beginning… Amen. First and Last Words of the Bible and Your Life.

The first and last words in the Bible are, “In the beginning” and “Amen” (Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21). The lessons in between those words are a lesson on life. And each of our lives start with “In the beginning…” and end in “Amen.” In between is the story of each of our lives. How we live—what we learn from the lessons in the Bible, if anything—is the story of our life.

“Amen” and life is over but then a new life begins. Where we spend that life in eternity depends on how we live this life and what we have leaned from beginning to Amen end.

Something to reflect on this weekend. Have a great one!

Don’t Think Prayer Works? You’re Not Praying.

Prayer works. It’s that simple. There is no magic to prayer. It’s just a conversation with God. He’s always there, listening and waiting to talk. You just have to be there, talking and listening. If you don’t think prayer works, you are just not giving it a chance. Period. Continue reading “Don’t Think Prayer Works? You’re Not Praying.”

Jesus says, “RELAX!” He’s Got This.

It can’t be any clearer—“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10). Those are Jesus words to us. So simple but so meaningful. He’s telling us to relax; He’s got this. Why we get so down, wander around looking for answers, and complicate life is beyond me.  Continue reading “Jesus says, “RELAX!” He’s Got This.”

Forget God! Let’s Go It Alone!!!

That’s exactly what we are doing on this planet, starting with this country. We are going it alone without God. Who needs God anyway? All we need is more money, more guns, more heroin, more, more, and more. Another shooting yesterday, more juvenile, hateful behavior from self-professed Christians vying for the most powerful position on the planet, and a general movement away from God. No wonder the world is so screwed up! Continue reading “Forget God! Let’s Go It Alone!!!”

Most Profound Bible Verses Are The Simplest!

“What are you looking for?” Jesus asks the two disciples who were following him (John 1:38). What a profound question to ask yourself. What are you looking for in life? What’s important; what’s not? A very simple Bible verse that packs a real punch if you really sit down and ponder it. That’s the thing about the Bible, which can seem old, stale, and complicated at times: The simplest is the most profound! Continue reading “Most Profound Bible Verses Are The Simplest!”

My New Year’s Resolution: Me or God?

I have a very simple New Year’s resolution for 2016. I am going to answer the question of what my life is about—me or God? Who’s will guides my life—mine or God’s? Am I living just for me or for God? The answers may sound easy but it’s all in the execution. Talk is cheap. Actions speak a thousand words. Me or God? Continue reading “My New Year’s Resolution: Me or God?”

The Lord’s Prayer — Nourish, Forgive & Deliver

Jesus taught us how to pray. Commonly referred to as The Lord’s Prayer, it was Jesus’ gift to us before He gave up His life for us. After praising God, the “ask” in the prayer of God can be summed up in 3 words—Nourish, Forgive, and Deliver. Simple. Continue reading “The Lord’s Prayer — Nourish, Forgive & Deliver”
