We all have a purpose in life. It’s a God-given purpose. No matter how seemingly insignificant or earth-moving the world may deem that purpose, God deems your purpose to be special and unique. You’re not a puppet on God’s strings fulfilling that purpose. You have total free will in living your life. But there’s a road for you that is one of a kind and untraveled. Is Heaven REALLY for Real?
Yes. You can read the book (Heaven is for Real) about a little boy’s journey to heaven and back, or wait for the movie based on the book due out for Easter 2014. Or you can read any number of books about heaven experiences or, better yet, talk to a person who has had a “heaven” experience. My wife is a nurse who in her critical care days saw these experiences up close with patients on death’s edge. Or you can READ the Bible and understand that eternity is God’s promise to us. How we LIVE this life depends on where we spend that eternity—in heaven or down there. Continue reading “Is Heaven REALLY for Real?”
Christmas Is Over. Christ Isn’t.
December 25th has come and gone. The trees are drooping in their stands and there are presents to return. The holiday is gone—the rush thankfully over—but fortunately the Savior is still here. He always is. Continue reading “Christmas Is Over. Christ Isn’t.”
Ready for Christmas or Christ?
I’m trying to answer that question. In my case, I think the answer is neither. I’m not finished with the Christmas shopping and between that and work I’m not ready for Christ. Sad—I know. Continue reading “Ready for Christmas or Christ?”
Walk the Christmas Walk, Not the Talk!
For a lot of people, Christmas is the tree, presents, and maybe some good cheer. For a lot of Christians, Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but in talk only. The Modern Day Job: Tim Tebow
Yes, I am fascinated by Tim Tebow. My wife and daughter say it is more like a bromance. There are four aspects of the Tim Tebow story that intrigue me so much. Continue reading “The Modern Day Job: Tim Tebow”
Faith or Doubt?
There are a lot of forks in the road of life, where we get to make decisions that either lead us to God or down dead ends. Life may seem a lot more complex than that, but it isn’t. We either walk down the path of faith or stumble along in doubt. Continue reading “Faith or Doubt?”
Halloween’s Over But the Devil is Still Here
The little red devils trick-or-treating may be gone but the real devil is still around. He’s very much at work in this world but he doesn’t go announcing himself door to door. In fact, he doesn’t want anyone to know that he really exists because he does his best work totally unnoticed.
If you’re like me, you have big doubts about Continue reading “Halloween’s Over But the Devil is Still Here”
God and the Secrets to Life
The secret to life is summed up in one, simple but powerful little word: God. Put God at the center of your life and you have truly discovered the real secret to life. It’s that simple.
The problem is that we humans get Continue reading “God and the Secrets to Life”
